Eating breakfast could not help you lose weight, study says

Coe told in an email that the "findings of this review could not fit with existing suggestions, but they remember the ongoing uncertainty about the relationship between eating breakfast and weight within the scientific literature."

Coe, who wasn't involved in the analysis, added that a healthy breakfast is "just one part of a healthy, balanced form of living." It is a good chance to get "important nutrients into the diet," such as fiber from whole grain breakfast cereals and calcium from dairy foods.

"For people trying to lose weight, the main factor to success is finding something that works for them and that they can limit to," she told.
